MegaDiamond brings to the market a unique Dual Metal Sided (DMS) product with polycrystalline diamond (PCD) sandwiched between two layers of metal.  This product is particularly useful in fabricating PCD-tipped drills where the tip is brazed on both sides into a slotted tool body.  The metal layers may then be ground on both sides of the tip, exposing an extremely abrasion resistant PCD cutting edge.  This product is not limited only to drills, but can be used in any tool design where brazing on either side is desired.  DMS PCD is available in large full-round blanks (an industry first) to allow EDM cutting of a variety of shapes and sizes to fit application needs.  MegaDiamond also offers this product as pre-cut tips in common drill sizes.

Applications

DMS PCD is used in a wide variety of applications in non-ferrous materials.  Typical applications include aluminum and other non-ferrous alloys, carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), wood and related materials (MDF and laminated panels), rubber, non-ferrous sintered metals and ceramics.
